Three Zero is one of the original producers
of the Hong Kong designer figure style,
best known for their gasmask logo (designed
by Michael Lau) and its many iterations
as a street-smart vinyl figure. Designers
whose figures have been produced by Three
Zero include Jason Siu and Elphonso Lam,
and a crossover project with Brothersfree
is rumored to be in the works.
The exhibit will contain a retrospective
of all previous Three Zero figures as well
as a few projects created specifically for
the show. Aside from tees and sweatshirts,
a not-for-sale and very limited run of Nike
Dunks sporting the Three Zero logo will
be on display. Next, a 12-inch figure dressed
in baggy jeans, a bomber parka, Three Zero
tee and a pair of the TZ/Nike dunks wields
a machine gun and TZ-signature gas mask.
Of the 100 produced, only 10 will feature
a removable mask which reveals an amazing
likeness to Three Zero proprietor, Wong
Kim Fung (check out the pics to see our
exclusive photos of the head being sculpted!).
Gas masks also appear on a new rotocast
vinyl figure as well as three mini Koobo
figures produced in cooperation with Dog-9.
If you're in Hong Kong, grab your facemask
and check out the exhibit. It's well worth
the trip. Two days only (April 19-20),
at the Milk Gallery: 1/F 120 Percival Street,
Causeway Bay.
